How dances benefit our community ?
Dances is a form of exercise and exercise is good for everyone and you can express your self so if you happy or sad you can ezpress your feelings.
Dances and music also connect people, ist a way to communicate and it makes you happy.
How does dances fit to our culture ?
Where a multicultural country and with dances you can connect all the people.
What dances do you think of when you think of holland?
When you think the same direction as the tulips and mils your thinking about klok dancing but that’s really old fashioned, i think its not really fancy and there not a lot of people who still practice it.
When you think about the modern culture every type of dancing can fit. We do have some world famous discjockeys(tiësto, Armin van Buuren, Martin Garrix and Hardwell and the dancing what goes with that music is also a kind of dutch.
Did you ever practice dancing?
Mom: when i was young i practiced jazz ballet, i’m not a real good dancer
Dad: i never practiced dancing
If you need to try 1 type of dancing which type of dancing would that be?
Mom: I would like to try tango.
Dad: none
Do you think dances are important for our culture
With dancing you can express you self, but dancing is not playing a real big role in our country according to us
How do you describe the Netherlands?
Holland is a small multicultural, welk organised and rich country
By Chee Graaff
Romy’s interview
Romy did also a interview, she interviewed a boss of a danceschool
Overhere the questions and the answers of the interview
The questions...
What kind of dances do you give?
Are there many people who dance in Zeeland?
How does dancing influence our culture and society?
What are the benefits of dancing?
Which dance is most often done in the Netherlands and which dance is most practiced in Zeeland?
Does dancing make society better?
Do you know some folk dances? And if you know it, will you also teach it?
The answers...
I teach classical ballet, jazz, modern and show.
I don't know how many people dance in Zeeland, There are always more than one thinks, because there are many different dance styles.
That seems like a rather complicated question for a special investigation.
Dancing is healthy because you move a lot, so you become stronger, more flexible and you develop your coordination. Dancing, and now I am mainly talking about theater dance, develops your creativity because you learn to empathize from a young age, e.g. roles and situations And learn to be creative with your body. Dancing gives your posture a good posture in a physical sense, but also as a personality, it gives you self-confidence. And for a lot of people there is nothing better to express themselves to music.
I cannot answer this question.
Dancing is an important outlet, which is also clearly visible in this corona crisis. Dancing makes life more beautiful, like all art. Maybe even better, dancers have learned discipline and that is an important aspect for a good society.
I do not teach folk dances.
Romy did another interview with her grandparents...
Interview with grandparents
Ad asscheman, politie
Hillie asscheman, geen beroep
- Did u practice any dances?
- Do u know people who practice any dances
- Wich dance types do u know?
- Makes dancing the our culture better?
- Do I know any folk dances?
- Are dances important for our culture?
- No I didn’t practice any dances when I was younger.
- Yeah, some old friends of mine practiced a type of dancing and I sometimes went to take a look at how they danced
- I know: jazz, ballet, hiphop, breakdance
- I think it dancing makes our culture better. We have like carnavals and stuff with our own music and dances. Without those a big part of our culture would be gone.
- I don’t know any folk dances but a Dutch dance is the vogeltjesdans!
- Yes they make us who we are for example with the carnavals. Without dances it would be less happier and silent.

What atvantages of dances are:
your sporting and you can express your feelings, it also connects people because when your dancing every one is the same and it doens't matter what you skin color is. when your dancing i think you can be wat every you want to be.
Which type of dancing is the most popular in your region?
We live in a region with more “old” people than other region so dance styles like the “klompendans” klokdancing is more popular than city’s or regions with young people. We also have types like jazz or ballet that are popular under the younger generations. We have more people who dance jazz or ballet so that’s probably the more popular one
Are there any popular traditionel dances practiced/ folks dances practiced in your region?
Yes, we don’t have many folks dances but the biggest and most popular of all is the “klompendans” klokdancing. Mostly older generations practice this dance because it’s a very very old dance.
Do many people in our region practice dancing on a regular basis?
In the Netherlands around 1.4 million people dance on a weekly basis. In Zeeland this is around 25.000 people from the 383,03
Compare the style of dancing parents/grandparent practiced mostly with the style of dancing of students?
The parents/grandparents never practiced dancing and some of the students did so we can compare that.
Is there a clear answer to the main question? How does dancing benefit our communities and our culture?
No we don’t think so because everyone thinks something different of dancing and that is why we can’t know if it really benefits our country/culture and we don’t have a real main dance.
I will investigate the region Zeeland.
Zeeland is a province in the south-west of the Netherlands.
Its the westernmost and least populous province of the Netherlands.
Its capital is Middelburg.
The biggest municipality in Zeeland is Terneuzen.
where not that good dancers so we're not practicing dances
we made our own dance
(This is the record from teams and we’re all teammates)

Evidence of comminucation
We stayed in touch with India by whatsapping and we did 2 video conferences.
We prepared by making a powerpoint and dividing the tasks who is going to do what.
We learned from india that the main sport over there now bollywood dancing is.
And we could ask all our questions and it went really good.
Overhere some examples

We did a lot of research of dancing online and we have some pictures when we are interviewing people.
The conclusion
I think all the research questions are covered we have gain a lot for information.
And i think we know more about dances that we knew before.
We know for example that the main sport in India not Bollywood dancing is.
And in the whatsappgroup you could also ask questions if you wanted to, overhere a photo of it....
So i think that the conlusion is that we didn’t knew much before but after it we knew a lot more about it...

Reflection
Chee
I think it went welll at the end but in the beginning it went horible because when we still went to school they alll left or we where doing videogames or other things, so we needed to do a lot at te end. Last lesson we devided tasks and set a dead line on 31-01 to have every ting finished i don't know jet if that helpt and if everyone helt to it. Next time i would change a lot because i would devide tasks earlier and have clearer appointments and if someone doesn't do that or doesn't succeed his or her tasks and then not all the group needs to wait until someone has finished that. Next time I would also like to make a logsheet so you can see at the end who did what and they can't say I did that if they didn't do that. We didn't had metal methods we just started and we thought that we could see where we ended but next time I would definitely make a method and plan everything. the group work wasn't that well because some people just left or did other things so at the end the same people always needed to do everything. Last week miss van de Sande told us that we needed to finish it Wednesday and then we divided tasks and set a deadline. Miss van de Sande really helped us by planning. Somethings did well went well because we had interviews and had all our information. and we did had every finished
Dirkje
In the beginning it didn’t go really well but then we started to get in the project and we worked good and we posted everything on the Weebly. We divided the tasks really good, so everyone knew what to do. We could work a little bit better because our contact wasn’t really good and we made slow progress. So we could have worked faster.
First we started to read the document and find out what we needed to do. Then we started on our introduction for the people in India.
Our contact wasn’t really good because people walked away and didn’t pay attention. But that was in the beginning, then we started to get the process and we divided all the task and everyone did their tasks.
It also was very easy to contact everyone about the interviews and schedule them. We had good contact with the dance school and they worked good along with us.
But there were also a lot of thing that didn’t work well because we didn’t know what to do and in the beginning we also didn’t have the motivation to do anything. But now we did it all and in the end things went way better.
Romy
In the beginning of this project it didn’t go well. There wasn’t really motivation to do something, people walked away because we didn’t had any idea what we needed to do and in the beginning it was just really difficult to start up, but this changed when the lockdown started again here. We divided tasks and this was much better then what we did on school. We started to understand what we needed to do and the tasks were clear. Things were done faster and it was better organized. Things like the website were really annoying because it just wouldn’t work.
My tasks were to interview a dance school owner and grandparents which was kinda fun to do. U get to know things u didn’t know before. And how it was before our time. I also needed to send some YouTube links and photo’s of dance program’s and of people who were dancing or some that had to do with dancing. I needed to search out how many people in my region danced on a regular or weekly basis and which were the most popular here. This tasked was hard because there are not that many good information sites with this type of information so it was very hard.
Jonah
In the beginning of EUMIMD it was a bit struggling because we were not really a team and people walked away, did other things and it just didn’t go well. But than came the lockdown and we divided al the tasks. When we divided al the tasks and had a video conference with India, we were more confident and we’re ready to go.
Everyone had the task to answer some questions and some people had also other tasks. I did for example with Chee the weebly page and the Powerpoint for India. The powerpoint was a bit last moment but it worked out fine. And the weebly page was very difficult to put everything in the right position but we made it!
I think that i would change next time that we begin earlier and that everyone just do their tasks...
But finally we have everything organised and putted in the weebly so we’re good to go i think!
Emili
This one is not 200 words but this is the only thing we've got think the cooperation was good.
At first I didn’t had any tasks but we divided them equally.
Maybe some things could go better, but for the first time I think we worked very well together!
Sometimes we couldn’t discuss some things, because not everybody of the group joined Facetime.
The next time we maybe could work a little faster and finish everything a little faster if we make a good scedule.
